Community Access’ largest development to date, River Avenue will be a beautiful home for individuals living with mental health concerns, individuals and families with histories of homelessness, and low-income families.
Financing for this $126 million development was made possible by a collaboration of government and private funders: the New York State Housing Finance Agency, New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York State Office of Mental Health (OHM), and Wells Fargo Community Lending and Investment.
Four blocks from Yankee Stadium and close to Mullaly Park, this 19-story building will feature a number of amenities, including: community rooms, a commercial kitchen, a gym, laundry rooms, tenant lounges, a bike room, and a library/ computer room. There will also be 20,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
Supportive services for tenants will be provided by Community Access and will include coordination of services with other community resources, including primary care and mental health services, and direct support encompassing goal setting, systems navigation, self-advocacy, educational/vocational/ employment information and referrals, nutrition, harm reduction strategies, and social supports.
