Celebrating 40 Years of Housing and Advocacy

In 2014 Community Access is commemorating its 40th anniversary. We started in 1974 on the Lower East Side with two tenements that housed ex-patients released from state psychiatric hospitals. Today we provide housing and services to over 2,000 individuals and families in 20 different developments in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan, including a job training program and other services that enable people with psychiatric disabilities to rebuild their lives in the community.
