Peer Bridgers

In collaboration with the NYS Office of Mental Health, we launched a project to help residents of NYC Adult Homes who live with mental health concerns to transition into community-based supportive housing. This undertaking follows a long legal process – a class action lawsuit on behalf of 4,300 people – and is a peer employment opportunity on an unprecedented scale. As a leader in peer workforce development in NYC, we were selected by New York State to hire and provide 40 full-time staff to support the residents of 12 adult homes (eight in the Rockaways, and two each in northern Queens and the Bronx).
