Holiday Market: Homemade Wares

Holiday Market: Homemade Wares

This past month, Community Access hosted a score of entrepreneurs in its first December Holiday Market located at the 2 Washington St offices.

Featuring artists, cooks and craftspeople representing the full spectrum of the agency’s programs, the Holiday Market brought in more than $1000 in total sales, lining the pockets of some of CA’s most talented and creative individuals while providing customers with a wide selection of unique, handmade goods. Organized by the Art Collective, the Community Food Program and Career Development Services, the Holiday Market offered a little something for everyone: from made-from-scratch salves to silkscreen prints to stuffed animals to sugar-free cookies.

For some vendors, this was their first time sharing their goods with the public, while other vendors brought years of experience to the table. Many vendors were encouraged with the results and looked forward to participating in future events of the kind. Plans for a Spring Market are in the works, with the site of the market to be determined.

A special thanks goes out to all of those who purchased items at the fair, in direct support of the spirit of the small business and the wonderful rewards, both monetary and intrinsic, that it can provide.
