Intensive Residential Crisis Support

Community Access’ new OMH-licensed Intensive Crisis Residence is based on the Soteria model, which offers a true alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The Soteria model emphasizes a partnership between guests and staff, offering peer support with as-needed psychiatric support to promote recovery, autonomy, community connection, and the preservation of personal choice and self-determination. Our voluntary, fully ADA-accessible program is set in a 10 bedroom, classic Lower East Side brownstone house with a private back garden and outdoor roof lounge, creating a gentle, home-like environment.
