Baez Place, Community Access’ new 154-unit affordable and supportive housing building in the Bronx will be a beautiful home for individuals living with mental health concerns, seniors with histories of homelessness, and low-income individuals and families.

Financing for this $86 million development was made possible by a collaboration of government and private funders: the New York State Housing Finance Agency, New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the New York State Office of Temporary Disability Assistance/Homeless Housing Assistance Corp., New York State Office of Mental Health, Bank of America Merrill Lynch Community Development Banking, and Richman Housing Resources.

Located in the Claremont neighborhood in the Bronx, this 132,000 square foot building will feature a number of amenities, including: 24/7 front desk security, a community room, commercial kitchen, gym, laundry room, tenant lounges, bike room, library/computer room, outdoor green space with raised planting beds, and a rooftop garden and greenhouse. Supportive services for tenants will be provided by Community Access and will include on-site social services for tenants coming out of the shelter system and for frail/elderly tenants. Alcove studios and 1-bedroom apartments for elderly tenants will also offer space for live-in caregivers.
