Community Access:

Community Access is one of the oldest and largest nonprofits in New York City dedicated to housing, health and human rights.  Our programs help over 10,000 individuals and families every year overcome mental illness and homelessness by providing access to housing, job training, and self-help programs that promote recovery, creativity, learning, and community pride.

The Art Collective: Established in 1988, Community Access' Art Collective provides visual arts workshops for individuals who are in recovery from mental illness.  Our artists learn technical and creative skills in many different areas, including acrylics, oil painting, screen printing, paper making and book arts.   We are thrilled that the Junior Board of Community Access is hosting its Autumn Party at our Gouveneur Court building, where the Art Collective studio is housed, as a benefit fundraiser to help buy supplies and canvases for our talented artists.
